Southern Utah Community Impact Summit
Apr 4th @ 8 am – 5:30 pm

Join us for a day DEDICATED to collaboration as UNA, Mayor Jon Pike, Sen. Orrin G. Hatch Professional Staff Member Dianne Browning, legislators and NPOs join together for the Southern Utah Community Impact Summit! The summit will include educational programs, networking, keynote speaker, a panel discussion, Community Impact Challenge and Exposition including presentations from the 2016 Challenge award winners, and Community Impact Awards Ceremony.

Doctor’s Volunteer Clinic – 2017 Spirit of Hope Gala
Apr 8th @ 5:30 – 9 pm

Join us for our black tie Gala to celebrate one of our community’s greatest assets, the volunteer spirit of our community. Guests will enjoy entertainment by Lisa Houston Seegmiller and John Houston’s Gospel Choir, a chef-designed dinner, silent auction, and cash bar.

Three Corners Women’s Giving Circle April Meeting
Apr 19th @ 5:30 – 7 pm

The meeting is open to anyone in the community.  Our speakers will be Lil Barron and friends from Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah (habitatswu.org)  After the presentation, there will be a presentation summarizing the giving circle organization and the progress to date. There will also be a feedback session.

3rd Annual “Mana” Recognition Awards and Dinner
Apr 5th @ 7 pm

The Southern Utah Pacific Islander Coalition (SUPIC) is proud to announce the 3rd Annual “Mana” Recognition Awards and Dinner! This event will recognize, honor and celebrate those Pacific Islanders in our community who have made a difference.  These awards help emphasize the unique mission and objective of the Southern Utah Pacific Islander Coalition (SUPIC) to promote health, youth development, education and artistic, ethnic and cultural preservation.

George Streetfest on Main
Apr 7th @ 6 – 10 pm

At the April 7 edition of the monthly nighttime community event Georgefest, “April Fool’s George” will celebrate indie rock on Main Stage, fine art, food trucks and fun.  Opening at the Main Stage Free Concert will be singer/songwriter Josh Larsen.  Salt Lake City-based Vintage Overdrive will then headline on Main Stage beginning at 8:30 p.m. An original rock and blues band, the five-member group features melodic vocals complemented by dynamic bass, percussion, and rhythm and lead guitar.

Professional Bull Riders
Apr 7th & 8th @ 8 pm

This is not a rodeo. We don’t rope calves, and we don’t chase barrels.  This is bull riding, and the first rule is just to stay alive.  Professional bull riding is a fierce, rough, and grueling sport with roots deeply imbedded in American culture. It’s America’s original extreme sport.

Gems of the Desert 2017 Quilt Show
Apr 13th & 14th @ 9 am – 5 pm

The Dixie Quilt Guild presents Gems of the Desert 2017 Quilt show on Thursday, April 13 from 9 am to 8 pm and Friday, April 14 from 9 am to 5 pm at the Dixie Convention Center. There will be featured quilters who have developed innovative quilting techniques, over 300 quilts on display by local quilters, a vendor mall with 37 vendors, and multiple classes.

Real Women Run Southern Utah Training
Apr 8th @ 8:30 am – 2:30 pm

Real Women Run is a collaborative nonpartisan initiative to empower women to participate fully in public life and civic leadership through elected political office at all levels, appointments to boards and commissions, participation in campaigns, and engagement in the political system.

Silver Reef Southwest Wildlife Foundation Birds of Prey Program
Apr 4th @ 10 am – 12 pm

Martin Tyner of the Southwest Wildlife Foundation will be presenting on “Birds of Prey”. Martin is the founder of the organization and will have several live birds with him including his golden eagle named Scout.  The fee to attend is $6.00/person.

38th Annual St. George Art Festival
Apr 14th – 15th @ 10 am – 6 pm

Festival goers enjoy thousands of original works of art, live entertainment on two stages, a vibrant children’s area, and foods of all kinds. The festival is set in the beautiful Town Square with its carousel, fountains and water features, flower gardens, and historic buildings. The Art Festival is known for consistently outstanding artwork, and treating artists as special guests.

Easter Service
Apr 16th @ 8 am & 11 am

On Easter Sunday, April 16 at 8 am and 11 am, Calvary Chapel St. George invites the community to join us at Tuacahn for a free non-denominational Easter Service to celebrate our risen Savior.  Nursery and children’s ministry are provided at the 11 am service only.

Dixie Power Kite Festival
Apr 22nd @ 10 am – 7 pm

Dixie Power Kite Festival partnered with Washington County School District Foundation to bring a great community event to Southern Utah.   A whole day of festivities takes place on that day, kite flying, enjoying games, vendors, continuous entertainment, etc. The proceeds from the Festival are given to the Washington County School District for literacy programs.

Plenty of entertainment awaits at Washington City’s annual Cotton Days celebration, including a junior rodeo, movie in the park, 5k, parade, car show, tractor pull, swim party, and more.

Kayenta Street Painting Festival
Apr 29th & 30th @ 10 am – 7 pm

The seventh annual Kayenta Arts Foundation Street Painting Festival will once again be on the beautiful streets of the Kayenta Art Village. Beautiful weather and wonderful visitors make this one of the best Street Painting Festivals in Southern Utah. The Festival brings students and professional artists together to create a world of magical street art in an amazing explosion of color! Using the asphalt as a canvas and pastels and chalk as the medium, large painted murals unfolded at the feet of thousands of spectators.

Kids and teens are instructed in a way that encourages self-expression and gives them the tools to be independent, confident and competent artist.  Young artists can explore their endless abilities through a variety of different mediums ranging from technical drawing and fine art painting classes, to mixed media and craft building.

Orchestra of Southern Utah – Youthful Legacy
Apr 6th @ 7:30 pmAs this season’s finale concert, we celebrate the legacy of talented youth and a distinguished music teacher. Roy L. Halversen infused a passion for music and the arts in our region. In his honor, OSU offers auditions to youth who excel on their instrument. This year we’ve selected four outstanding musicians, the youngest is only 13. Despite their age, their musical accomplishments have taken them to large performances and to the top of competitions.

Jack Ashton’s YCAP and Suzuki Strings in Concert
Apr 8th @ 4 pm

Jack Ashton brings his Young Artists Chamber Players to Cedar City for a joint concert with Suzuki  Strings on Saturday, April 8, at 4 p.m. in the St. Jude’s Episcopal Church, 70 N. 200 W.   The public is invited to this free performance.  The YACP group represents top achieving string students from the Salt Lake area under the direction of Ashton, retired from the Utah Symphony.  He has a lifetime of performance and teaching with a strong impact on raising the quality of string playing in Utah.
