Please join us for an evening of exquisite musical performance and brilliant inspiration at DOVE Center’s Annual Gala, our premier fundraising event of the year!
Desirae and Deondra Brown, members of the piano chamber group The 5 Browns, will perform and share with us their poignant story of finding the courage to speak up and report childhood sexual abuse.
After enduring more than a decade of silence, they discovered they had each been sexually abused by their father. Together, they found the courage to speak up for change, and 15 years after the abuse first started, their father was found guilty and sentenced to prison.
Today, the sisters are helping other survivors heal through their organization, The Foundation for Survivors of Abuse. By working to change unjust laws regarding the statute of limitations for prosecuting abuse, they have continued to speak up for their fellow survivors, and to speak up for change.
Desirae and Deondra have performed over 500 concerts across the United States and around the world as soloists, duo pianists, and as members of The 5 Browns. They are exclusive Steinway Artists and have released six albums, three of which were #1 on the Billboard Classical charts.
The Brown sisters’ message of hope for survivors is incredibly powerful, and we hope you will join us for this unforgettable evening.
