Adult Protective Services
Investigation of possible abuse, neglect or exploitation of disabled adults and elderly. Coordinate with police, courts or other community services to stop, or prevent such abuse, neglect or exploitation. Short term counseling and crisis intervention. Referral of client and family to community support resources. Public education on disabled and elder abuse. Services--intake, investigation, supervision, adult supervision, adult day care, adult foster care and protective financial arrangements. Eligibility-- The following three elements are present: a) Victim is 18 years or older; b) Physically or mentally ill, disabled or unable to provide necessities or care for self; c) The person reporting suspects there may be abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
