A free 12-week course that balances education and skill-training with self-care, emotional support and empowerment for relatives of those diagnosed with one of the following serious and persistent brain disorders (mental illness): Schizophrenia, Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Panic Disorder, OCD and co-occurring Brain Disorders and Addictive Disorders. The course is not appropriate if the primary problem is: alcoholism, brain injury, Alzheimer’s, criminal behavior, posttraumatic stress disorder, or physical/sex abuse in the family. Nor does the course cover the childhood disorders of autism, childhood schizophrenia or ADHD.
